Handbook on Georgia's Export Control System

On March 2, 2020, a presentation of the "Handbook on Georgia's Export Control System“ was held at the Tbilisi Marriott Hotel, Georgia. The event was organized by the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU) and supported by the Revenue Service, Ministry of Finance of Georgia. The presentation was held under a Targeted Initiative funded by the European Union that aims to raise awareness in member countries of the STCU, and enhance the effectiveness of export control systems for dual-use items and related materials, equipment and technologies through the provision of the necessary training and educational programs.
The event was attended by Deputy Head of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance Vladimer Khundadze, Head of the International Relations Department of the Revenue Service Samson Uridia, the representatives of the Customs department, scientific institutions, and industry.
The Handbook, developed by the Customs Department, Non-Tariff Control Division in Georgian and English, was intended for those engaged in foreign trade in strategic goods related to the production, export, import, transit, and transshipment of such goods. The main objective of the handbook development was to raise awareness and spread information to all segments of the society about the importance of non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems.
