STCU participates in Ukrainian Conference on Commercialization of R&D Results

On 10 March 2010, STCU assisted in organizing an international conference in Ukraine on commercializing scientific research, an idea that originated from an STCU project. The conference, “Modern S&T: from Fundamental Research to Commercialization of R&D Results” was put together with the Ukrainian Dobrov Centre for Scientific and Technological Potential and Science History Studies, and more than 100 participants took part in the conference. Speakers included Dr. Anton Naumovets (Vice-President of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) and Lyudmyla Suprun (Head of the Ukrainian State Agency for Investments and Innovations).

Victor Korsun, STCU Deputy Executive Director (US) made a presentation on commercialization intellectual property, Dr. Yaroslav Yatskiv (STCU Governing Board Member from Ukraine and Director of Main Astronomic Observatory, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) made a presentation on barriers to R&D policy realization in Ukraine, and Victor Ivchenko ( Deputy Head of the National Council of Science, Innovations and Sustainable Development of Ukraine) made a presentation on national innovative clusters.
