Head of the European Commission Delegation to Ukraine visits STCU, 3 September 2009

On 3 September, H.E. Ambassador José Manuel Pinto Teixeira (Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine) paid a courtesy call on STCU and met with STCU Executive Director Andrew Hood. Mr. Hans Rhein and Mr. Andriy Bandura, both officials of the EC Delegation in Kyiv, accompanied Ambassador Pinto Teixeira to the meeting. Deputy Executive Director (EU) Michel Zayet also participated in the meeting. Executive Director Hood gave an overview of STCU to Ambassador Pinto Teixeira, and both discussed STCU future activities and potential program areas where STCU and EU agencies might find mutual interests. Since 1998, the European Union has been an STCU Governing Board member, and is represented by the European Commission and the European Council Presidency during STCU Governing Board meetings. The EU Party has contributed over €32 million for STCU projects and related activities, primarily through European Commission program funding.
