Commercialization of NanoMaterials 2007 Conference and Exhibition in Pittsburgh, PA (USA)

On November 11-13 a delegation of 4 scientists led by STCU Governmental Partnership Manager Tatiana Teryakhina participated in Commercialization of NanoMaterials 2007 Conference and Exhibition held in Pittsburgh, PA (USA). This event brought together industrial, government and academic groups focused on producing nanomaterials today.

Commercialization of NanoMaterials 2007 addressed multiple technical, manufacturing and business issues related to the commercialization and rational use of nanomaterials and provided a forum for discussion among all the contributors to this effort. The conference program highlights included:

The latest technical progress in nanomaterials commercialization for energy, structural, functional, coatings and biomaterials applications;
Perspectives from leading nanomaterials companies, including Bayer MaterialScience, Boeing, Evident, NanoDynamics, Plextronics and PPG Industries;
Techno-management and investment forecasts from Axiom Capital Management, Birchmere Ventures, Capital Works, NanoBusiness Alliance, The Small Times, and federal and state governments.
The international nanomaterials industry was broadly covered with presentations and exhibits from Canada, France, Germany, India, Japan, South Korea, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

The STCU-sponsored participants consisted of:

  • Tetyana Konstantinova, Head of Department of Donetsk Institute of Physics and Engineering(Ukraine)

  • Grigor Mamniashvili, Main Scientist of Andronikashvili Institute of Physics (Georgia)



During the event the scientists have established numerous contacts with industrial and academic institutions working in the area of nanomaterials.
